Nicola Hensel: The Patient Labyrinth
Refined and poetic, Nicola Hensel’s work is directed by the observation of everyday botanical and domestic details. For this exhibition, the Hunter-based artist is producing a virtuosic collection of work that includes monumental finely worked pencil drawings and collage, chalk wall drawing and finger painting on the floor .

Joseph Banks and the flora of the Australian east coast
Coloured engravings of Sydney Parkinson’s original drawings record the coastal plants collected between Sydney and far north Queensland by Sir Joseph Banks and Dr Daniel Carl Solander on Captain James Cook’s first voyage round the world, 1768–1771.
On his return to London, Banks hired five artists and 18 engravers to reproduce Parkinson’s drawings. These engravings would become Banks’ Florilegium of which a selection will be seen in this exhibition.

Replant: a new generation of botanical art
Replant is an excursion through the eyes of seven different artists into the remarkable world of plants in the tropical north of Australia. This exhibition of limited edition etchings and photographs explores the unique characteristics of species that survive and prosper through the climatic extremes of monsoonal rains, dry weather and wild fires.
