Celebrate Australia Day at the Lake
Date Posted: 14 December 2012
Lock Saturday 26 January into your diary to come along to the Lake Macquarie Festival at Speers Point Park.
This year’s celebration is going to be bigger than ever with a wide range of family-friendly activities planned.
Council’s Manager Community Planning, John Ferguson, said the festival is always a great day out for the community.
“This year, there is something for everyone to enjoy,” Mr Ferguson said. “We will be starting the festival early this year with the Lake Macquarie Farmers Markets at 8am.”
“Throughout the day we’ll have markets, amusement rides and local musical talent on the main stage.”
“I’m particularly looking forward to the evening concert which will feature Australian artists Chris Sebastian and Adam Eckersley.”
“The night will finish with everyone’s favourite, a spectacular fireworks display.”
