Sporting Grounds
Lake Macquarie City Council boasts over 100 recreation facilities including sporting grounds, netball courts, tennis courts, equestrian facilities and petanque piste (french boules) spread across the city. Most of these facilities are proudly managed by Community Operating Committees who volunteer their time to assist Council in providing quality facilities to the broader community of Lake Macquarie.
Most sportsground facilities are freely available for community use, however tennis courts,netball courts, equestrian centres, and petanque generally require bookings. Formal groups, schools, and businesses are required to make bookings for all recreation facilities.
