Council recognises the importance of maintaining and improving the health and wellbeing of the environment in Lake Macquarie. Council's Environmental Health Officers are active in promoting and proteting the health of all residents through monitoring premises and regulating legislation.

If you are carrying out any activities that are regulated by the Public Health Act 2010 it is a requirement to notify Council and provide certain information that is specified in the Act.
 
Activities that the Act requires notification for include operation of water cooling towers or warm water systems, operation of a public swimming pool or spa pool, and operation of a skin penetration premises.  If you are a new occupier of a premises were one of these activities is carried out it is your responsibility to fill in the approved Registration Form and return it to Council.
 
On the spot fines may apply if the notification requirements of the Act are not met.
