Lake Macquarie Family Day Care is an accredited childcare service providing quality care for children from birth to 12 years of age.
Our registered carers provide small-group care in a home environment on a permanent, part-time, and casual basis. Care is also available for evenings, on weekends, outside of school hours, and during school vacation periods.
Lake Macquarie Family Day Care has carers in most suburbs throughout the city. Our service is available for all families including those who live outside the Lake Macquarie area.

Sponsored by Lake Macquarie City Council and funded by the Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations, and licensed by the Department of Community Services (DOCS), Lake Macquarie Family Day Care has one of the largest schemes in New South Wales. It provides care for up to 800 children each week.
The National Childcare Accreditation Council has accredited the Lake Macquarie Family Day Care Scheme as a high quality child care service.
Services
Located at 37 Main Road, Boolaroo, the Family Day Care Coordination Unit is responsible for the effective management of the service. This includes:
- selection of care providers and monitoring legislative requirements and care quality through home visits and training;
- assisting parents to select a suitable care provider for their child;
- assisting parents to claim fee reductions through Child Care Benefit; and
- monitoring children’s care and development and providing advice, support and information to parents and carers.
