Film Night – Connecting Lake Mac

Date Posted: 9 August 2012

Linking people together for entertainment and connection is the focus of the Hunter premiere of a new film screening on Thursday 16 August.

Lake Macquarie City Council is partnering with InsideOut Consulting for the award-winning film Connected, a documentary exploring our love/hate relationship with technology and modern life.

Michael Ryder from InsideOut Consulting said he is pleased to work with Council to provide this opportunity for the community.

“We are recognising the isolation, suffering, and damage modern life can cause to us as individuals and as communities,” Mr Ryder said.

“This unique film evening will help us explore ways of better connecting with ourselves, each other, and as communities.

“We hope people will leave the night feeling entertained, inspired, and a little wiser.  You will learn a little, laugh a little, be entertained, and help create a kind and like-minded community.”

Connected

Have you ever faked a restroom trip to check your email?  Slept with your laptop?  Or become so overwhelmed and deflated by such rapid world change that you have wanted to just unplug from it all?  In this funny, eye-opening, and inspiring film, director Tiffany Shlain takes audiences on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride to discover what it means to be connected as humans in the 21st century.
