Living Smart Festival 2015

The Living Smart Festival will be back at Speers Point Park on Saturday 26 September 2015. This year’s theme, “Live More with Less”, will focus on getting back to basics and making the most of the produce, materials and services readily available in our own community.

  • cooking demonstrations with 2013 MasterChef winner Emma Dean
  • upcycle tent featuring home decor and fashion, with basic sewing skills, furniture upcycling and a fashion parade

  • demonstrations including keeping backyard bees and chicken keeping
  • food and market stalls
  • bike maintenance workshops
  • Hoyts Charlestown free bicycle valet parking

  • Native Plant Giveaway

Transport options to the Festival

Cycle and win
Ride from home or park and ride from Eleebana, Warners Bay or Booragul and use the FREE Hoyts Charlestown bike valet service.
The first 75 people to use the bike valet service will receive a Hoyts Charlestown double movie pass!

Thomas the Tank Engine
Choo Choo! The kids will love making their way to the Festival on Thomas the Tank Engine.
Departing from Council’s Works Depot located at Creek Reserve Road, Boolaroo on a continual loop.

Tram
Jump on board the Newcastle Tram and enjoy a scenic route along the lake from Croudace Bay Park to the Festival.
Parking is available at Croudace Bay Park. Departing from Croudace Bay Park, Macquarie Drive, Croudace Bay, every hour.

Drive to Council’s Administration Building car park and walk
Drive to Council’s Administration Building and park in the main car park, located at 126-138 Main Road Speers Point. Take a short stroll of just under 500m to the Festival.

Some of you may have noticed that the ferry service isn't available this year. Try another fun way of getting to the Festival such as catching Thomas the Tank Engine, the tram, a bus, a train or cycling.
