Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan 2004 (LM LEP 2004)

The LM LEP 2004 sets the framework for the land use structure of the city.  The plan includes a set of land use zones and provides detailed requirements for development.  It also establishes what types of development may be permitted on a particular parcel of land with the permission of Council.

Lake Macquarie Development Control Plans (DCP No1 and DCP No 2)

The Lake Macquarie Development Control Plans are support documents for the LMLEP 2004.  They provide guidance and detailed development requirements.

Lake Macquarie Development Control Plan Guidelines (DCP No 1 and DCP No 1)

These guidelines provide supporting documentation to DCP No. 1.

Lake Macquarie Town Centres Development Control Plan

The Lake Macquarie Town Centres Development Control Plans provides support documents for LMLEP 2004.  They provide guidance and detailed development requirements for the centres of Belmont, Cardiff, Charlestown, Morisset, Swansea and Toronto.

Lake Macquarie Town Centres Development Control Plan Guidelines

These guidelines provide supporting documentation to the Town Centres Development Control Plan.

North Wallarah Peninsula (NWP) Planning Instruments

These documents apply specifically to land known as North Wallarah Peninsula.

State Environment Planning Policy (Major Development) 2005 - South Wallarah Peninsula

These documents apply specifically to land known as South Wallarah Peninsula.

Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan 1984

Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan 1984 (LEP 1984) was the LEP applying to the city prior to LM LEP 2004.

It was gazetted on 19 April 1984. It remains in force for a small number of areas at:

  • Bennetts Green
  • Cameron Park
  • Hillsborough

These areas are shown on LM LEP 2004 maps by being left white and marked 'Deferred Matter.'
