Backyard and Beyond
Help to improve natural habitats in Lake Macquarie.
- join the Backyard Habitat for Wildlife program and create your own natural oasis in your backyard
- volunteer for Community Ecosystem Monitoring Program to monitor the health of bushland across the city

Be Ready, Be Safe
Learn what steps you can take to be prepared and stay safe during an emergency.
- sign up to the Early Warning Network (EWN) to receive emergency warnings and alerts to your email or mobile phone
- prepare an emergency kit to ensure you have everything you need if you need to evacuate
- develop an emergency plan to be better prepared if an emergency should arise
