Jodie Harrison (ALP)
Mayor of Lake Macquarie City Council

Elected as Mayor of Lake Macquarie City Council in September 2012, Jodie will strive to balance the protection of the Lake’s remaining natural environment with a built environment that provides quality residential, work and recreation facilities.

Ensuring that Lake Macquarie Council delivers efficient services and facilities to the community is one of her priorities.

Jodie loves Lake Macquarie and wants it to be a wonderful place to live and work, with green spaces and quality developments to be proud of.  She wants it to be a place our children, and our children’s children, can, and want to spend their work and recreation time in.

Prior to being elected as North Ward Councillor in 2008, Jodie worked in various corporate positions at Newcastle Council over a period of 14 years, finishing there as the Council’s Governance Officer.

Up until her election as Mayor, Jodie worked as an organiser for United Voice on the Big Steps in Early Childhood Education and Care campaign to have early childhood educator workers receive proper recognition and wages for the very important work they do.

Jodie lives in Charlestown and has been married for 21 years. She has two children currently at school.
